(TORONTO - May 12, 2008) - Canwest Broadcasting announced today the official kick-off to the nationwide search for the country's next big fashion designer as the all-new season of Project Runway Canada makes its Global Television debut in January 2009.

Starting TODAY, Monday, May 12 - 8am ET, all fashion designer hopefuls can go direct to www.globaltv.com to download the official application form. The deadline to submit applications is Friday, June 20 - 6:00PM ET.

"Following the great viewer response to Project Runway Canada on SliceTM last year, we're extremely excited to premiere the all-new season to an even broader audience on Global. This Canadian Original series is a natural fit across both networks and offers a prime opportunity to utilize our newly formed broadcast synergies," said Karen Gelbart, SVP, Lifestyle Content, Canwest Broadcasting. Produced expressly for Global Television and SliceTM by Insight Productions, Project Runway Canada will premiere new episodes on Global followed by an encore presentation on SliceTM.
